BCAH Artist of the Month for January 2009, Nabibakhsh Mansoori’s art in Decoding Dreamscape, seems to wind its way through a labyrinth of brightly colored layered imagery inspired by his childhood memories of a semi-rural upbringing and current life experiences in a fast-growing Indian metro. In variable forms and a fine mix of abstraction with narration, his paintings on canvas and charcoals on paper make eye-catching art. His creativity evokes mixed feelings of love and confrontation, delight and sorrow, light and darkness or day and night as if his characters emanate from a magical or other worldly realm.

"Some logic and some humor or jest, that I like to mingle with aesthetics, is what my art is all about. The hallmark of my work is possibly its dreamy-dramatic-colored-surreal composition. To view things from different perspectives is another feature that you can say is a hallmark of my art. I get completely immersed as I try to put my emotions into my paintings."
